May Component of the Month Design Challenge and Giveaway

April 21, 2017 , In: Blog Hops, Ceramic Clay, Clay, Design Challenge

So here we are again… time to launch another design challenge and a giveaway to go along with it. I’m in the chair for the May challenge and I’ve created these lovely heavily textured ceramic pendants. The design comes from a mould I made from the cross section of a shell and I love the way they look like some sort of ancient vertebrae. The glaze pools beautifully in the recesses to give a wonderful effect. Three of these pendants are up for grabs by anyone who would like to take part in the challenge and join us in our blog hop on Tuesday 30th May 2017 – just read the instructions below to take part.

Please read all the following rules before entering the giveaway to ensure that your entry is considered.

To participate in the May COM:

  • I will give away 3 ceramic pendants of my choice from those pictured to winners selected randomly from those who leave a comment on this post.
  • *Please note: your comment must include your email and blog addresses so we can contact you should you win. Comments lacking this info will not be considered.
  • Please only leave a comment if you can commit to creating a finished piece and blogging about it on the reveal date.
  • The names of the winners will be announced on Tuesday, April 25th, 2017.
  • The giveaway is only open to participants from all countries.
  • The blog reveal will take place on Tuesday, May 30th.

Extra pendants will be available for purchase after the draw – please contact me if you are interested.

Thank you and good luck.

Good Luck!

Those are just fabulous! I would never have guessed they were from a shell…you have a real knack for seeing design. I love the organic elongated triangle shapes. I also like the choice of colors in the “patina” greens and the rich earthy browns. Nice job. I would adore one! (btw…love your posts)

Oooh, these are so lovely! So organic and textural. Your work always amazes me, Lesley. I haven’t participated in a challenge for ages, but these jumped right off the page and sparked ideas immediately. I’d love to design with one of these.

I would never have known the design comes from the inside of a shell. Fun and original designs that would be a delight to work with.
